Yes. We machine titanium at our Reno shop, including titanium screws made for a food processing plant. It is slower to cut than steel, so tell us the grade, the quantity and the finish you need when you ask for a quote. We machine it, and the way to start is to send the details below. ## What to send Send a drawing or a sample, the grade if you know it, the quantity and what the part does. Commercially pure titanium and the common alloy Ti-6Al-4V are different to cut and different in strength, so the grade matters. Mention any finish or size that is critical, such as a thread, a sealing face or a bearing fit. These affect how the part is planned and whether it needs extra finishing passes. - Drawing, sketch or sample - Titanium grade, if known - Quantity - Critical sizes, threads or finishes ## Why titanium takes longer Titanium holds the heat from cutting at the edge of the tool and tends to stick to it, so it is cut at lower speeds than steel with plenty of coolant. That slower cutting is the reason titanium parts are planned carefully before the first chip.
