# How quoting and work orders work

You send the drawing, sample or photos, we review them and call or email with questions, and you get a prompt estimate. After that we build or repair the part, and you pick it up at the shop, or for field work we come to your site.

- OP 20 We review it We look it over during shop hours and call or email you with any questions: material, quantity, sizes, when you need it.
- OP 30 You get the estimate Free consultations and a prompt estimate. Pay by any major credit card, or we can open an account for your company.
- OP 40 We make it or fix it Pick it up at the shop on Longley Ln in Reno, or for field work - portable align boring, millwright work - we come to your site.

Most jobs start with a drawing, a worn part, or a few phone photos and a question. There is no fixed form for it. We will gladly work from your specifications, drawings or samples, and we can also assist you in designing your product or part. Consultations are free, and what follows is how the work usually moves from your first message to the finished part.

I have used Wolf Machine several times over the past few years for fabricating and repair of parts on my ultralight aircraft. [...] These guys are great to deal with. I wouldn't take my projects anywhere else.

## What to send

A drawing is the best start, in PDF or a CAD format such as DWG, DXF, STEP or IGES. With no drawing, send photos of the part with a tape measure in the shot, the sizes you can take, and the machine it came from. Bring the part itself to the shop if that is easier. A sample can be copied just as well as a drawing can be followed.

Say how many you need, what the material is if you know it, and the date you need the part. The [quote request](https://wolfmachinenv.com/request-a-quote/) takes up to 5 files, and larger ones can be emailed to wolfmachineinc@gmail.com. The [guide to drawings](https://wolfmachinenv.com/guides/what-to-put-on-a-drawing/) and the [photo and measuring guide](https://wolfmachinenv.com/blog/photograph-and-measure-a-broken-part/) list what helps most.

## What happens after you send it

Requests are read when the shop opens, Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. We look over the drawing or the photos and call or email you with any questions about the material, the fit, the finish or the quantity. Often the questions are short, and a phone call settles them.

Then you get an estimate. Our words for it are a prompt estimate, and the call or email is the point where you can adjust the job, such as the quantity or the finish, before anything is started. Please call for inquiries regarding specific project or repair needs.

## Building or repairing the part

Once the job is agreed, the part is built or the repair is done in the shop. We pride ourselves on our excellent delivery and on-time record, and we strive to maintain our reputation for quick turnarounds whenever possible. You pick the finished part up at 4812 Longley Ln in Reno.

Some work cannot travel. Millwright and field work and portable align boring are done at your site, so for those jobs call with the location, the machine and photos so the work can be planned. Large parts are best brought in with a call ahead.
