Nevada's mining sector is large. The Bureau of Labor Statistics counted 244 mining establishments in the state in 2025, with 14,491 jobs at an average annual pay of $125,218 (Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages). Mining operations run crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps and gearboxes that wear, and a machine that sits waiting for a part often costs more than the part does.

At a glance

  • Gold wheel fabrication, including the steel stand
  • Gearbox rebuilds, any brand or size
  • Metal and plastic chutes made to your drawing or sample
  • Rock crusher and screen parts repaired
  • Field work and portable align boring for machines that cannot move

Love working with these guys, and gal. Great customer service and knowledgeable skill base. They have helped with many big projects and have always pulled though when our machines went down.

Where mining equipment wears out

Rock does the damage. Crushers and screens take impact and abrasion on every pass, chutes wear where material falls onto them, and conveyor drives carry shock loads through gearboxes and shafts that run for long stretches. The parts that fail are usually the ones that touch the material or carry the load: liners, screen frames, shafts, bearing seats and gear housings.

Because these machines are large and expensive, the usual question is whether a worn part can be brought back. Our repair-or-replace guide walks through that decision.

How our work applies to a mine or mill

Our own list for the mining industry reads: gold wheel fabrication, gearbox rebuilds, metal and plastic chutes, and rock crusher and screen parts repair. A gearbox rebuild is done on any brand or size. Crusher and screen parts come in for weld repair and machining. Chutes are made from steel or plastic, depending on what the material does to them.

When the machine is bolted down or too big to haul, millwright and field work and portable align boring are done at your site.

Mining in the county numbers

Mining establishments are spread across several counties. The Census Bureau's 2023 County Business Patterns lists 48 in Washoe County and 14 in Lyon County; the table above has the rest. The category includes quarrying and support work, so it measures how much heavy extraction equipment runs nearby.

What to send for a mining quote

A short package makes the quote easier. Send what you have; we work from specifications, drawings or samples, and we can help design the part if you only have the old one.

  1. Name the machine or system the part belongs to and where it sits in the line.
  2. Photograph the part whole and then close up on the wear, with a tape measure in the shot.
  3. Attach the drawing if one exists, or note the material if you know it.
  4. Request a quote online or call (775) 359-5570 during shop hours, Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
