Crushers and screens work in dust, impact and vibration, and everything on them wears. We repair rock crusher and screen parts, and we make chutes for cement and mining. When a crusher is stopped, the plant is not earning, so the first step is a phone call and a few photos.

The two kinds of damage on crushing plant

Rotating parts such as shafts, eccentrics and bearing seats wear and fatigue. Static parts such as frames, decks and side plates crack and tear. The first kind goes to the lathe and the boring mill. The second goes to the welding bay.

Fatigue cracks start at corners and welds, so a Magnaflux check on a steel frame or shaft before the weld repair shows how far a crack runs.

How the work gets done

A shaft with a worn journal is built up by metal spray or a sleeve and machined to the bearing size. A housing with an oval bearing bore is built up and bored on a true center line, which is the job of align boring. A cracked screen frame is cut back to sound metal and rewelded with welding of the type the steel calls for.

When a machine is too big to move, the job can sometimes be done where it sits with portable align boring at your site.

Mines, quarries and cement

Northern Nevada has working mines and aggregate operations, and our mining work includes gold wheel fabrication and gearbox rebuilds for the mining industry and chutes for cement and mining. See the mining and cement and aggregates pages for the rest.

Planning around the plant

A crusher or screen is usually part of a chain, so a stopped unit holds up everything behind it. Call the shop at (775) 359-5570 with the part name and a few photos, and we can talk through what the repair would involve and what we need to see. Early photos let us ask the right questions while the plant plans around the work.

What to send

Photos of the part from each side, the machine type, and the failed area close up. Send them with the quote request or call (775) 359-5570, Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, and have the part name ready.

If the part is a liner, a shaft or a housing that has worn before, say how long it lasted and what it was working on. That history helps us choose between a weld repair, a machined fix and a new part.

Rock crusher and screen parts repair questions

Still have a question? Call (775) 359-5570, Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Can you repair a crusher shaft?

Yes. A worn journal is built up and machined to size, and a shaft that is cracked through is replaced with a new one machined to the same sizes. Magnaflux inspection helps decide which.

Do you make chutes?

Yes. We make metal and plastic chutes for cement and mining.
