Chutes and crusher parts for cement and aggregate plants
Cement and aggregate plants lose parts to abrasion, and chutes and crusher and screen parts are the ones we are asked to make and repair. Send a drawing, a sample or photos of the worn piece and we will give you a prompt estimate.

A quarry or a concrete plant moves tons of crushed rock, sand and cement through the same handful of steel paths every shift. Those paths wear. Washoe County had 19 nonmetallic mineral product manufacturers and 8 quarrying and mining establishments in the Census Bureau's 2023 County Business Patterns, which is a fair picture of how much crushing and handling goes on within a short drive of our shop.

I have used Wolf Machine several times over the past few years for fabricating and repair of parts on my ultralight aircraft. [...] These guys are great to deal with. I wouldn't take my projects anywhere else.
Abrasion is the problem to design around
Dry, hard material sliding across steel acts like sandpaper. A chute that carries crushed rock or cement clinker thins fastest where the stream lands and where it changes direction. The same is true of screen decks and crusher seats. When a chute is made again, the useful questions are where it wore through and whether the material should bounce, slide or be caught.
That is why we ask for photos of the old piece with the wear visible. The pattern of wear tells us more about the next chute than the print does.
Metal and plastic chutes
Our list for the cement and mining industries reads: metal and plastic chutes. Steel gives strength where the load is heavy. Plastic is chosen where material needs to slide freely and where a steel surface would wear or hold on to it. You can read about each in our pages on steel and steel alloys and plastics.
We make chutes from a drawing, a sample or a worn original, and we can help design a changed shape if you want one.
Crusher and screen parts
Crusher and screen parts come to the shop worn at the places that carry load or hold something in alignment. We repair them by welding, by metal spray where a seat or shaft has worn, and by machining the repaired area back to size. The full process is on the crusher and screen parts repair page.
How many plants are nearby
County Business Patterns also lists 10 cement and concrete product manufacturers in Washoe County and 5 in Lyon County; the table above gives every county we draw from. These are counts of businesses in the industry.
What to send
Send a photo of the part from two sides, a close-up of the wear, the material it moves and any drawing you have. Attach them to the quote request or call (775) 359-5570, Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
